MRi Polytech goes racing at Meydan

MRi Polytech has just completed one of the biggest contracts in the company’s history. For months, the company has been shipping tonnes and tonnes of polyurethane adhesive to the MEYDAN RACECOURSE in Dubai.

The opening of the racecourse is the culmination of a £1.3bn project to provide the world’s largest integrated racing facility. It includes, as its focal point, a stunning 1.6km long grandstand with a 60,000 capacity and covered parking for 10,000 vehicles.

The opening races of MEYDAN are the Dubai International Racing Carnival with the official opening coinciding with The Dubai World Cup on March 27th 2010.
The company supplied all the adhesive binder required for the installation of 47,000m² of EPDM rubber. Production and delivery of the polyurethane was managed to a very tight and demanding schedule between September and November last year. The company had to meet very stringent technical specifications. The project was installed by Bin Sabt Traders.

Karen Wells, Sales Director of MRi Polytech commented, “this was a very prestigious and demanding project to be involved in and we are proud of the part we have played in it. Our technical and operations teams really had to pull out the stops to meet all the requirements but in the end we showed that when it comes to meeting our customers’ needs that we really are thoroughbreds”.
