Resin bound surfacing is an ideal alternative to loose gravel, particularly for areas where access is required by vehicles, wheelchairs or bicycles whilst being more attractive than tarmac or concrete.
Resin bound stone surfaces are best achieved when using the POLYSTONE resin system developed by MRI-Polytech. POLYSTONE is a polyurethane binder which, when used in combination with decorative aggregates, creates an affordable decorative surface with a seamless, flexible finish.
The POLYSTONE system does not contain any solvent and forms an inert, non-hazardous surface once fully cured. It is available in two grades:
POLYSTONE ARO is the standard grade of stone binder typically used with golden coloured aggregates which benefit from the gradual deepening of the honey coloured hue given by the resin as it matures.
POLYSTONE ALI is the premium grade of stone binder which maintains its colourless appearance over time. This allows the installer greater freedom with designs by providing the option to use a wider range of coloured aggregates.
Once laid the surface is generally ready to use within 48 hours of installation (dependent upon application) and can be used in a wide range of areas including:
• Commercial and leisure facilities
• Pedestrian walkways
• Car parks and car showrooms
• Public parks and cycle paths
• Domestic driveways and paths
• Roof gardens
• Water parks
Screeds made with the POLYSTONE resin system are permeable, making them compliant with SUDS legislation. This means no complications arising from having to go through the planning application process. MRI-Polytech products are manufactured exclusively at our purpose built facilities to the highest standards. We have our own testing and development facilities, which allow our customers to benefit from a programme of continuous improvement.

POLYSEALER Rejuvenation treatment
Our POLYSEALER system brings tired resin bound stone surfaces back to life. This 2-component, roller-applied coating has been developed to refurbish, reseal and rejuvenate existing resin bound installations.
